Episode 5
Ben Fogle tries to mend his ways with Rio, the tearaway cockatoo. There is a test of brains over brawn for the lions. And the park鈥檚 very own spider-man tries to save a rare arachnid.
In today鈥檚 episode, keeper Caleb wants to find out who are the heroes and who are the zeros in lion country with a test of their intelligence. Calling on departments from across the Longleat estate, Caleb wants to create a contraption that will see the lions work together as a team to release their food. Animal Park veteran Ian Turner has worked with big cats for over 40 years and is convinced the lions won鈥檛 do it. But Caleb is confident that they will succeed in his big cat Krypton Factor and earn their dinner. Has Caleb overestimated the capability of his big cats?
Meanwhile, a small hut in Animal Adventure is the hub of an international breeding program, headed by the park鈥檚 very own spider-man. Keeper James is absolutely obsessed with arachnids and is on a mission to stop the desertas wolf spider from being wiped out forever. There are more pandas on the planet than these eight-legged creepy crawlies, so James has got his work cut out to save a species.
And for the final time this week, Ben meets his old nemesis, Rio the cockatoo. These two have never quite seen eye to eye, and loveable Rio鈥檚 antics are as outrageous as ever. But might Ben鈥檚 latest mission to win over the tearaway teenager bring Rio onside? Or has Ben lost his touch?
