Malaysia Day 4
It's day four of the girls’ team adventure in Malaysia, learning to lion dance. Today is about teamwork, and presenter Camille brings out their competitiveness in a traditional game.
It’s day four of the girls’ team adventure in Malaysia, Southeast Asia, for sprinter Alesha, showjumper and runner Neisha, and rugby player and discus thrower Niamh. Watched over and cheered on by presenter Camille Ucan, they are here to learn the massively popular - and very tough - local sport of lion dancing. At the end of the week they are competing in front of top local judges, who will assess how many moves they have mastered.
The final day of training focuses on good teamwork, key to succeeding in lion dancing, which is performed in pairs. Camille is therefore introducing the girls to the traditional Malaysian team sport of galah panjang. Similar to British bulldogs or kabaddi, the aim is to dodge past opponents without being caught and make it to the finish line. The girls get competitive under the heat of the Malaysia sun, before continuing with their lion dance training. But with just one session left before the competition tomorrow, sprinter Alesha appears to be having real trouble with pain in her legs. Will she be able to perform all the moves tomorrow?
