Mark and Stuart celebrate as their ongoing regular feature 'The Chain' reaches number 8000 and are joined by 'voice of The Chain' jingle Jason Williamson of Sleaford Mods

Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast

On today's show, Mark and Stuart celebrate as ongoing regular feature 'The Chain' reaches number 8000!

The features sees listeners choosing the songs, with each track connected in some way to the one before. Listeners call in to the show to make their song suggestions, explain how it links to the last record and chat to Mark and Stuart on air.

The Chain began in 2007 when Mark and Stuart started working together on the Radcliffe & Maconie Show on Radio 2. It came with them when they moved to 6 Music in 2010 and continues on their weekend breakfast show. Jason Williamson of electro-punk band Sleaford Mods is currently 'the voice of The Chain' jingle, an honour formerly held by journalist, broadcaster and former host of The Krypton Factor Gordon Burns.

Today Mark and Stuart chat to the lucky caller who gets to pick the 8000th song on the famous feature.

Plus they also chat to Sleaford Mods' Jason Williamson about his latest projects. AND Jason does the jingle live for Chain 8000.

Also on the show, Clare Crane has a round up of the best music and entertainment stories of the past week in 鈥楾his Week In Music鈥.

With a selection of music old and new to get the weekend started. And a celebratory Chain buffet including crisps and sausages on cocktail sticks!
