Steve hosts a special Drumming Masterclass with Taylor Hawkins from Foo Fighters. Taylor talks Steve through his career as a drummer, culminating in a hands on lesson for Steve!
Taylor joined Foo Fighters in 1997. Prior to that he was the touring drummer for Alanis Morissette as well as the drummer in a progressive experimental band Sylvia.
Here, sat at a drum kit, he talks Steve through his life as a drummer, demonstrating various stages by playing the drums. We hear how he came to play the drums and he demonstrates the styles of some of his drumming heroes. He talks about his life in Foo Fighters and how the dynamic works in one of the biggest bands in the world. Steve then asks about his new solo album and gets him to demonstrate some of the drumming. The piece ends with Taylor giving Steve a drumming lesson sat at the drum kit; hear just how well Steve got on!
