Mary Anne has a live session from our ferocious faves, Girl Band. The session comes just ahead of the release of the band's second album, which is due out on September 27th. The album is called The Talkies and it was recorded in a stately home called Ballintubbert House on the outskirts of Dublin in November 2018.

The band say that the idea behind the album was to make an audio representation of the house. So much so that they recorded all the drums twice: once on the landing and once in the cellar, and during production they'd cut between these sounds.

Marvin Gaye was also a source of inspiration, with Alan from the band explaining: 'The arrangement and the sequencing on the album What鈥檚 Going On? makes it feel like one long composition, and that was a big thing in my head, having those little touch points.'

The Talkies follows on from the band's debut album Holding Hands with Jamie which was released back in 2015.
