Broadcaster Gerry Kelly has played golf for most of his life, but admits he knows very little about its history. In this documentary, he sets out to explore the origins of golf in Ulster and trace its development to the phenomenon it has become today.

Gerry settles the debate on which is the oldest club in Ireland, reveals the significant contribution of the Ulster-Scots to Ulster's golfing history, uncovers evidence pointing to the Ards Peninsula as the cradle of the sport in Ireland, and gets to play the most famous 18 holes in the world - the Old Course at St Andrews.
