The Future Of Sex
Shazia Awan-Scully explores the future of sex by taking a closer look at the technology behind sex robots.
Since the birth of the world wide web in 1990, consumer technology has come on in leaps and bounds. With three quarters of adults in Wales using a smartphone, it’s easy to see how gadgets, computing and an ‘app for everything’, have become a part of our daily lives. Yet, as well as ordering food or locating our belongings, technology is also impacting another of our human needs: sex.
With the promise of technology evolving even more rapidly in the next 30 years, how will this be impacted in the future?
In this programme, Shazia Awan-Scully explores the future of sex and takes a closer look at the technology behind sex robots.
Exploring the science behind them and the moral questions surrounding their introduction into society, Shazia will also discover which humanoid robotics are already being made in Wales and asking whether sex robots could be part of our country’s future.
