Scanning for answers
CUBRIC, Cardiff University's Brain Research and Imaging Centre, are about to launch the biggest and most advanced brain imaging study ever conducted in Wales. It's hoped the results will further our knowledge of many of the diseases that affect the brain, from schizophrenia to Alzheimer's.
Adam talks to Professor Derek Jones, head of CUBRIC, research associate Dr Hannah Chandler, and MRI lab manager Dr John Evans.
The new study is looking to recruit 170 healthy people aged between 18 and 65, to take part in an extensive set of brain scans, genetic testing and some simple behavioural tasks. The study will take place at CUBRIC and the University Hospital Of Wales in Cardiff.
