For over 20 years Frances O'Connell has suffered from multiple sclerosis - a condition that has gradually eroded her quality of life. But in early 2016, a pioneering new treatment for MS hit the headlines - and, for the first time, Frances dared to dream that a cure might be within her reach.
This documentary follows Frances as she tackles the disease head on, travelling to Mexico for the hugely dangerous but potentially life-changing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Filmed over a year, the programme joins Frances through her emotional journey - from the early fundraising campaigns, the intensive treatment in Mexico and the long and difficult road to recovery. When she embarked on her fight for a cure, Frances' dream was to play in the park with her beloved granddaughters again. Will HSCT enable her to fulfil her dream?
