Dancer
Documentary. An intimate portrait of ballet dancer Sergei Polunin told through home movies and interviews with his family, colleagues and close friends.
Joining the Royal Ballet at the age of 13, Ukranian Sergei Polunin became their youngest ever principal dancer when he was 19, but in January 2012 he took the dramatic decision to walk away from his classical ballet career.
With home movie footage from his early dancing years and interviews with his family, colleagues and close friends, this intimate portrait gets close to the heart of what motivated his professional breakdown and his career change, and includes some highlights showing why he has been described as a successor to Rudolf Nureyev.
