An act of worship from St Martin-in-the-Fields exploring the life and work of former poet laureate Robert Bridges. Led by the Rev Richard Carter.
Robert Bridges
In the next in our week-long series of programmes on famous hymn writers, today's Daily Service comes from St Martin-in-the-Fields in London's Trafalgar Square and explores the life and work of former Poet Laureate Robert Bridges. Beginning as a medical physician, it was only later in life that he turned to writing. His poems reflect a deep Christian faith, and he is the author of many well-known hymns. The service is led by the Revd Richard Carter and music is provided by St Martin's Voices, directed by Andrew Earis with organist Jeremy Cole.
O Gladsome Light (Nunc dimittis)

All my hope on God is founded (Michael).
