In this programme, the air ambulance crew at Aberdeen Airport is always ready to take patients to and from all parts of the country day and night. We follow paramedic Peter Craigmile as he travels as far north as Shetland and as far west as Stornoway - all in a day's work.
At Sumburgh Airport in Shetland, Chris Sandstom is training to be an air traffic controller and Andy Bell is keeping a watchful eye over him, as things get busy. Meanwhile, Donald MacKay is working in the control tower at Benbecula Airport. They expect a large military plane to come in at night, and fire watch manager Derek Campbell has to check all the runways before darkness falls.
