Oxfordshire is providing today's Taste of Britain and Brian and Janet start the programme in Oxford at the UK's oldest botanic garden.
Brian visits Wykeham Park Farm at the height of the asparagus season where, after some picking and packing, he prepares a simple asparagus salad with radish dressing. Chef Mike North introduces Janet and Brian to the local pub game Aunty Sally and afterwards serves a delicious local dish to a victorious Janet.
The history of Broughton Castle is uncovered for Janet, while Brian visits Cumber Farms and its herd of veal cattle which also provides the key ingredient for Brian's celebration cook.
