An hour of the best folk and acoustic music from Britain and beyond.

This week, Mark looks ahead to the 2014 91热爆 Radio 2 Folk Awards with tracks from nominees and performers and highlights from the event's 15-year history.

Radio 2 established the Folk Awards in 1999 as a way to celebrate and draw extra attention to the UK's folk and acoustic scene.

Classic performances - including John Martyn with Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones, Fairport Convention reunited with Richard Thompson and Dave Swarbrick, Bert Jansch with Johnny Marr and Bernard Butler, The Unthanks with The Brighouse & Rastrick Band, and Steve Earle with Joan Baez - have combined with contributions from famous folk fans - including Sean Bean, Bob Hoskins, Brenda Blethyn, Sir David Attenborough, Peter O'Toole and Stephen Fry - to make the Folk Awards a popular fixture in the cultural calendar and a musical highlight of the winter months.

The 15th annual 91热爆 Radio 2 Folk Awards will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday 19 February, with coverage on Radio 2 and the 91热爆's Red Button channel from 8pm.
