American basketball star Jason Collins has become the first current player in one of the 4 major US sports leagues to say he's gay.
He told a sports magazine "I'm a 34-year-old NBA center. I'm black. And I'm gay."
But why is it so tough to say you are gay?
Are players put off by the barracking they would get from the fans?
Is there pressure within sport to keep your sexuality quiet - in case it costs the game its macho image?
If more sports stars DID come out - would that help GET RID of the issues - because there would be more gay role models in sport
