Some shocking news about Malcolm leads Gina to make some big decisions. Everyone is delighted for the surprise newlyweds, but a devastated Scarlett cannot believe her eyes.
Downtrodden, Gina is at her lowest ebb for some time and with Lenny wanting to buy the failing Oyster, she doesn't know what to do. Malcolm reckons there's more to life than the Oyster, but things haven't been great with Murray either and when Murray suggests selling up and buying a campervan it's all the spur Gina needs to fight for her business. She sets about drumming up more business for the dead caf茅, but when an agitated Stella turns up, Gina is surprised to learn she's getting married to Bob today. It's not lost on Gina and Murray that there seems to be little chance of them ever tying the knot. Gina's newfound determination to make the Oyster a success takes a blow when it soon comes to light that Eileen is still selling takeaway coffees. Gina has a go at Raymond and Liz for their lack of support, but when Murray has called in an estate agent to value the caf茅, Gina is livid and makes her call to Lenny. Lenny smells blood and undercuts his original offer and Gina is surprised at the speed of the deal and also of Lenny's plans to turn the caf茅 into a 24-hour concern. Gina's in the Ship for a much-needed glass of vino, but ends up taking Stuart off of a harassed Raymond's hands although she quickly passes the baby over to Malcolm when she discovers a For Sale sign has been erected outside the Oyster. Livid, she has it out with Murray, but when Malcolm returns home without Stuart, everything stops as everyone joins the search to find the missing child. Gina struggles to get Malcolm to retrace his steps, but with Dan there, Gina eventually works out that Stuart may have been left on the subway. At the subway, disaster is averted when Big Bob hands an unhurt baby over to Eileen. Gina reckons Malcolm's just had a wee turn, but it soon comes to light that Eileen has known about his deteriorating health for some time and Gina is livid. However, when a very emotional Eileen breaks down Gina momentarily softens and tells her sister she'll fix things. Gina has rediscovered her mojo and shocks Murray by telling him their relationship is over - it's time to face facts that they're going nowhere. Her transformation is complete when she turns the tables on Lenny by nicking his idea for a 24-hour caf茅 and by renegotiating their deal so that he only takes a 30 per cent stake in the business. Meanwhile, Eileen is relieved to share the burden of Malcolm, but a strong Gina reminds her Malcolm isn't dead yet - now if Eileen would just fast-track that application for the new license for the caf茅.
Nicole waits for a Valentine's card from Stevie, but it doesn't come and despondent, she tells Michael and Leyla that she won't be going on the school trip to France. Christina reckons Nicole should move on from Stevie, but Nicole loves him and the pair row. Leyla and Gabriel steal a kiss, but later, Leyla can see how upset Nicole is and agrees to call the school and cancel the trip. Michael is angry, but Leyla advises him it'll be a chance for father and daughter to sort out their differences. However, an emotional Nicole plans on finding Stevie and will ask Leyla for help. Nicole has another fight with Michael. Meanwhile, Gabriel delivers his wedding speech, but is clearly addressing Leyla as he talks of love. Leyla and Gabriel steal a moment alone, but Nicole witnesses them get it on in Paton's Lane. Nicole decides to use the school trip as a smokescreen in her attempts to track Stevie down. Christina urges caution, but Nicole is determined and as Christina heads off on the school trip Nicole steps out into the night to find her love.
It's Valentine's Day and Bob is excited about the secret wedding, but Stella is nervous and lets it slip to Gina and Murray. Frances learns of the wedding whilst attending to Stella's hair. Meanwhile, Deek is finalising details with Bob for the quiz at the Community Centre, but when Scarlett interrupts them, Bob is keen for her to treat herself to some new nails for the night's events. Scarlett reckons they're all going to an awful lot of effort for a quiz, but with Bob's promptings, eventually agrees to go. Elsewhere, Gabriel is busy putting the final touches to the surprise celebration. Everything is going according to plan, but with Scarlett and Frances having words over Lenny's access to Cal, it feels like trouble is brewing. Scarlett has another run-in with Frances and decides not to go to the quiz. As Gabriel tries to get the newlyweds into the Community Centre undetected, Deek goes to get Scarlett. Everyone is gathered together waiting for the quiz to begin, but Deek surprises them all with the news of the happy union. Smiley faces all around as Gabriel delivers his toast to the loving couple, but Scarlett sits apart, quietly fuming that Bob didn't tell her. Frances takes the opportunity to wind Scarlett up even more about her precious family and when Bob merrily asks his mum for a celebratory cuddle everyone is shocked when Scarlett slaps him in the face instead.
