CAP
Tha barrachd ga chosg air Polasaidh Coitcheann an Àiteachais (CAP) na dad sam bi eile ann am buidseat an EU - £48bn sa bhliadhna. Tha e a’ toirt subsadaidhean do thuathanaich is croitearan, ag amas ri dhèanamh cinnteach gu bheil an t-Aonadh ·¡Ã²°ù±è²¹ch a’ dèanamh biadh gu leor, is a’ cumail dòigh-beatha à iteachais a’ dol. CAP
More is spent on the European Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) than anything else in the EU budget - £48bn every year. It subsidises crofters and farmers, aims to secure a sustainable source of food for European markets, and to preserve agriculture as a way of live and of work. This week, Darren Laing asks what crofters would like to see.

Barricades in Kosovo
In the few years since Kosovo declared independence controversy has been simmering in the north of the country. Many Serbs living there still look to Belgrade and refuse to recognise Kosovo. Some have erected barricades to keep the Kosovan authorities out. The last few months have seen sporadic outbreaks of violence between Kosovan Serbs and Kosovan Albanians. Are there examples to be found elsewhere in Kosovo of communities where the people from different ethnic backgrounds have friendlier relationships despite the tensions left by the war?
