Lenny receives some good news about Cal. Will Jimmy ever be able to forgive Scarlett and Kelly-Marie? Bob awaits news from the hospital. Zinnie's meddling backfires spectacularly.
Jimmy plays the doting grandad as he takes Cal to nursery. Lenny witnesses the happy scene and can't help but make a barbed comment to Kelly Marie about it. Kelly-Marie puts him straight that Jimmy is the only grandfather Cal will ever know. Kelly-Marie is struggling to cope with the prospect of Scarlett's cancer returning and, despite Jimmy's warnings, overcompensates for not being there last time around. This drives Scarlett mad and soon mother and daughter have fallen out. Meanwhile, Lenny gets the confirmation he's been waiting for - the DNA results suggest Cal is his grandson. Lenny wants to confront Kelly-Marie for having lied to him time and after time, yet his lawyer Hamish once again urges caution: if Lenny wants to be a part of Cal's life then he'll need to get Kelly-Marie onside. Lenny agrees and plays it softly-softly. Lenny sets his trap and when she gets the good news that Scarlett's going to be okay, he lets slip that he has MS. Lenny knows the condition isn't hereditary, but doesn't let on and goes on to say how glad he is that Ewan's not around. Lenny watches Kelly-Marie squirm before finally revealing his DNA proof, but she bites back, saying that although he may be Cal's grandfather, Lenny will never be a part of his life. Lenny is livid and challenges that she won't be so confident when he tells Scarlett, but once again Kelly-Marie calls him on this - Scarlett already knows. Everyone is gathered to celebrate Scarlett's good news, but this quickly turns sour as Lenny arrives and reveals the truth about Cal. Jimmy is left reeling... once again, the women in his life have been keeping secrets.
Stella knows that Bob is anxious for news on Scarlett's hospital results and tries to distract him by making him breakfast, but this proves difficult while living at the Singles Flat. On the spur of the moment, Stella wonders if they should get a place of their own and although Bob's surprised, he's soon enthusiastic. But a mysterious phone call unsettles Stella. At the Oyster, Stella throws herself into flat hunting with Bob, but it's not long before she gets another call and this time Iona reveals that the caller is Stella's mum. Bob tries to reach out, but Stella struggles to open up, and the two fight. Gina tries to counsel Stella and suggests that she goes after Bob, but Stella ends up meeting Kelly-Marie and is left with food for thought regarding her relationship with her mother. When Bob gets the good news about Scarlett, it is a chance for Stella to try and explain her feelings about her mum, but the party at the Mullens stops them. Returning from the disastrous party, Bob apologises for his awful family, but it's Stella's turn to say sorry and slowly she begins to explain her fractured relationship with her family. Bob learns of Stella's younger brother and a little of her life in care, but with Bob by her side she agrees to call her mum and a tentative reconciliation begins.
Stevie and Nicole obviously fancy one another, but with Michael warning Stevie off it looks like there's no chance of a relationship developing. Later, Zinnie spots an opportunity for mischief and plays a malevolent cupid as she schemes to get Stevie and Nicole together, and then sets Michael up to catch them. When Michael finds Stevie in the house, he throws him out. Nicole is mortified by Michael's behaviour and tries to convince her dad that it's Christina who is interested in Stevie. Christina really does like him and hurries off embarrassed. Gabriel advises Nicole to be honest with her pal - if they both like Stevie but he likes Nicole then there's no other way, and soon Nicole is apologising to her friend. Not that it'll make any difference as Michael hates Stevie. However, Leyla's suspicions about Zinnie's role in proceedings are confirmed when Gabriel tells her the truth, and so she warns Zinnie to butt out. Zinnie's plan backfires spectacularly when Leyla offers Stevie and Nicole 拢20 to go to the cinema and the first blossom of a new romance can be seen as the teenagers head off.
