Hayley's salon relaunch is beset by problems outwith her control, but when she forces Gina and Jack together has she inadvertently become the master of her own downfall?
Gina is determined to put Jack from her mind and focus on Murray's return. However, comments from Hayley, Stella and Ruth leave her feeling like she's only ever seen as a mother or grandmother and not as a woman in her own right. Her frustration building, Gina confides in Scarlett about her low feelings and her drunken dalliance. When pushed by Scarlett, Gina admits that she enjoyed last week's kiss but she fully intends on giving Jack a wide berth.
Meanwhile, Hayley is panicking about the salon relaunch and giving Jack a hard time. First the salon floods, then it turns out the caterers have the wrong day. A reluctant Gina comes to the rescue but helping out Hayley puts her in temptation's way. Jack defends Gina when guests at the launch are rude to her and they agree to escape and go for one drink. They get on well but it's cut short by Hayley calling Jack away. Back at home, Eileen teases Gina about Jack and Gina is oversensitive. Eileen tells her to calm down, lightly mocking that dull, sensible Gina wouldn't be capable of having an affair. Gina is further frustrated by the continual pigeonholing of her as reliable and unexciting. Her frustrations are soon taken over by yet another disaster - her hair dye has gone wrong.
Eileen brings Jack round to fix Gina's hair, unwittingly throwing them into a dangerous situation alone together. Whilst they try to talk themselves out of an affair, the sexual tension keeps building and they are nearly caught out by Murray's return. Gina desperately wants Murray to make her feel special and to make her realise she's crazy to be in a tizz over Jack, but sadly he fails to step up to the mark. Following her heartfelt desire, Gina calls upon Jack at the salon and kisses him. Silently he leads her to the office...
Iona is upset that Big Bob is still not speaking to her after their falling out a few weeks ago. While Iona tries to patch things up, Bob takes some bad advice from Jimmy and Charlie. But Iona's not one to be messed about and when she stands up to Bob he immediately backtracks and apologises, there's really no way he could stay mad at Iona. Annie questions Iona's feelings for Bob and though Iona denies there's anything going on, when she's left alone she does start to wonder, could they be more than just friends?
Minxy Hayley invites Grayson to the relaunch leaving Robbie horrified. Thankfully Scott twigs what's going on and helps keep up Robbie's pretence while Grayson exploits the situation for maximum fun.
Scarlett isn't quite herself but covers when Jimmy quizzes her. After helping Gina out and being her confidant, Scarlett almost tells her friend what is going on with her. She holds back however and goes for her ultrasound appointment alone.
