Serbia agus an t-Aonadh ·¡Ã²°ù±è²¹ch
Tha Serbia a' strì gus gluasad air adhart agus dealachadh bho cheangalaichean le a h-eachdraidh fhuilteach. Tha an tagradh airson ballrachd san Aonadh ·¡Ã²°ù±è²¹ch air ceum air adhart a ghabhail an t-seachdain-sa. A dh'aindeoin an adhartais ged-tà tha iomagain air a bhith ann mun ìre de choirbteachd san dùthaich agus cuideachd gu bheil leithid luchd-leanntainn ball-coise air a bhith ag adhbhrachadh fòirneart san dùthaich.
Serbia and the EU
Serbia is striving to move forward and to sever ties with its recent bloody past. This week the application for EU membership took a step forward. Despite progress made, however, there are worries about levels of corruption in the country and about recent violence caused by football hooligans.
Buidhnean armaichte sa Ghrèig
Chan e rud ùr a th' ann an fòirneart bho buidhnean armaichte sa Ghrèig. Ach on a chaidh buill dhen bhuidheann November 17 an glacadh, bha dòchas ann gun robh an strì seachad. Tha draghan ann a-nise ged-tà gu bheil bagairt ùr air fà ire, agus buidhnean ùra air nochdadh a tha air a bhith a' toirt ionnsaigh air poilis, luchd-naidheachd, is luchd-turais. 'S e an Sect of Revolutionaries tè de na buidhnean. Dh'èirich iad às an ùpraid an dèidh balach ann an Athens a mharbhadh leis a' phoilis ann an 2008. An cunnart 's e gu bheil a' bhuidheann ag rà dh nach eil ro-innleachd sam bith eile aca ach an dùthaich a thionndadh na "raon chogaidh". Chaidh Darren Linc dhan Ghrèig airson a' chùis a rannsachadh.
Armed groups in Greece
Criminal acts by armed groups are not a new phenomenon in Greece. Since those who are believed to be the last few members of the November 17 group were prosecuted, there was a hope that the effort to neutralise such groups had prevailed. There are now fears that a new threat exists, with new groups having appeared, threatening police, journalists, and tourists. One such group is the Sect of Revolutionaries. They emerged from the rioting which followed the shooting of a teenager by Athens police in 2008. The danger now is that they claim to have no political motive - just a desire to turn Greece into a "war zone". Darren Laing travelled to Greece to research the situation.
