Hello. I do not have a name, you see I am a thought. Like every other young thought, I am afraid of growing up. Confused? Let me explain. A thought starts off as a little bubble. It grows and grows until it becomes a young thought. But it doesn't stay like that. Eventually thoughts are taken upstairs to be considered by a thing we call the brain. Yes, you guessed it, we live inside a head. The human I live in is called Brian and although he is very imaginative, he doesn't always let his ideas develop. But I don't want to grow up and be just an idea. You become an idea when you get sucked into the brain's neuron stream. One day I was sitting on my own when I heard a speaker say; 'Thought no.3251 come upstairs now please'. I stayed where I was. Suddenly a cold wind swept me into the air. 'Aargh!' I screamed as I was sucked into the unknown...

I zoomed up tunnels and caught glimpses of other poor thoughts caught in sticky sap. All at once I stopped sliding and opened my eyes.

I seemed to be in some sort of waiting room, however when I looked around, I realised something: I was trapped! A thick box surrounded me. I noticed a button. I pushed it and the box vanished. Bewildered I stared up into the most terrifying thing I had ever seen: The Brain. It was round and different colours with thousands of sausage-like things attached to it (I know, how do I know what a sausage is? Answer: Brian loves them so much he scoffs them all the time!). Pulsing orange lights seemed to feed the brain and as I saw this the brain spoke in a deep gurgling voice: 'You cannot avoid this, it is your destiny'.

A cold wind swept around the room lifting me into the air. Luckily, I grabbed hold of a railing and clung on tight. Suddenly I remembered something. Brian didn't let his ideas run free. Maybe Brian wasn't letting his ideas flourish because one thought wasn't enough. He needed more brainpower! 'Open the doors' I commanded. The doors slid open and thousands of thoughts flew past. Babies, children, adults and the occasional Grandma waving a stick. The brain glowed orange as they were sucked through the doors and into the brain's path! Finally, I jumped off the railing and into the brain. It was really hot inside and I started glowing purple then red then orange. At last I realised what I was meant to be. I was an idea! And I had an idea...

Brian was sitting on the sofa when I pinged into his head. He smiled and ran to his room. Do you know what his idea was? It was an idea to write a story - just like this one.
