One of the great Proms traditions is nurturing the talent of the future and it's the youth orchestras who often give some of the most sparkling and fresh performances.
The young line-up this year includes the Australian Youth Orchestra and Sir Mark Elder (30 July), the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and Semyon Bychkov (7 August), the European Union Youth Orchestra and Sir Colin Davis (9 August), and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester under Herbert Blomstedt (1 September).
The National Children's Chamber Orchestra and National Youth Chamber Orchestra combine forces with the young professionals of the Aurora Orchestra under Nicholas Collon for an August Bank Holiday Prom for children (30 August).
