Radical reform to deliver a more focused 91热爆
|
English Regions
听
The English Regions' plans feature a strong commitment to regional news, politics, current affairs and other local content.
听
91热爆 regional TV output, local radio and online services will continue to produce the quality content that reflects the diversity of contemporary England. Output will build upon a close relationship with the communities served and use new opportunities for audiences to reflect their own experiences and content through their 91热爆.
听
In order to attract new generations of local news viewers, significant investment is planned in developing an online broadband multi-media interactive offer, MyLocalNow, subject to approval by the 91热爆 Trust.
听
This will build on the strengths of existing online services and the continuing popularity of our regional TV output which includes the most watched news service on the 91热爆.
听
Efficiencies will be delivered by moving to a standard staffing level on both radio stations and TV newsrooms. We will be reducing our staffing in some of our open centres and we will be gradually taking our small fleet of buses off the road.
听
There are no longer plans to put a local TV service on satellite. Instead the focus is on creating high-quality content for the rapidly increasing number of broadband users.
听
Similarly it has not been possible to continue with new local radio stations in Bradford, Cheshire, Somerset and Dorset at present. Somerset local radio will be enhanced by putting the existing service on a new FM service later this year.
听
English Regions will make approximately 130 to 150 net redundancies out of a current workforce of approximately 2,900. Before redeployment and natural turnover, the number of posts closed would be approximately 370 to 390 gross.
