Spotify: What music have you listened to most this year?

Music unites people from all over the world and lots of fans enjoy listening to a huge range of tunes.
There are endless numbers of different songs and music genres, but which hits have been particularly popular in 2023?
Well, the music streaming platform Spotify has revealed its annual Wrapped lists of most listened to songs and artists and it is clear some musicians have loyal fanbases right across the globe.
This year, it was US superstar Taylor Swift who was named the most streamed artist on Spotify.
The singer, who has seen some major successes this year, managed to secure the top spot with more than 26.1 billion global streams since the beginning of the year, according to the music platform.
Taylor Swift was also the most streamed artist in the UK chart, followed by Canadian stars Drake and The Weeknd, the Arctic Monkeys who were fourth and singer songwriter Ed Sheeran who was in fifth position.

Taylor Swift has certainly made her mark in the music world this year. Her 2022 album 'Midnights' was the second most streamed album globally and the top streamed album in the UK for 2023.
Her 2019 release 'Lover' also ended up in the top five, only behind SZA's album 'SOS', Harry Styles' 'Harry's House', and Artic Monkey's 2013 album 'AM'.
The most streamed song of the year was Miley Cyrus' hit tune 'Flowers' which was listened to an impressive 1.6 billion times worldwide in 2023.
'Kill Bill' by singer SZA came in second, while Harry Styles' viral hit 'As It Was' was the third most listened to song.
