Pavement guitarist Scott 'Spiral Stairs' Kannberg has said the band have yet to play a note together since deciding they'll reunite for shows in 2010.

Speaking to Radio 1's Zane Lowe he said: "We decided to announce these shows a year out. We haven't even played together - it is pretty ridiculous."

Following an 11-year absence the Californian five-piece last week (18 September) announced four shows at Rumsey Playfield, Central Park, New York next September.

Kannberg also confirmed that the band hope to involve fans in choosing the songs they play at their reunited gigs.

Fan involvement

He added: "I think we're just going to send an email round and see what everyone wants to play and maybe involve the fans on some level and see what everyone wants us to play."

The Pavement man also confirmed that the band will "definitely going to do some European dates".

Although the arrangement is not forever, last week the band's record label Domino said: "The band would like it to be known that the tour does not constitute a full-on permanent reformation."

Formed in Stockton, California in 1989, during their decade long career the band released five albums including 1995's Wowee Zowee and 1999's Terror Twilight.
