    The political parties are to resume some low-key local campaigning for the general election this afternoon. Tomorrow, national campaigns will resume after being suspended out of respect for those killed in the Manchester bomb attack.

    UKIP was the exception and launched its election manifesto this morning, before the one minute silence for the victims of Manchester. Party leader Paul Nuttall said the decision to do so was a message to terrorists that they would not win.

    The home secretary has welcomed a drop in net migration in 2016, describing it as a 鈥済ood thing鈥.

    Amber Rudd added: 鈥淲e鈥檙e determined to make sure that we do continue to reduce the overall net migration number.鈥

    She also criticised UKIP for suggesting Theresa May shared some of the blame for Tuesday鈥檚 attack in Manchester, calling it "entirely the wrong approach鈥 and adding: 鈥淭his is not a time for making political points.鈥

    Asked if the net migration target should be zero - as UKIP want - Ms Rudd said:

    Police investigating the Manchester Arena bomb attack have after leaks to the media, the 91热爆 understands.

    "What's so alarming about this is somebody made a decision just to print such horrific details about such a terrible incident," former Labour Deputy Prime Minister Lord Prescott tells the Daily Politics.

    "What is the value of the sharing of intelligence?" he asks, adding that one of Theresa May's "policies is to improve the sharing of intelligence" with the US.

    "The question now is whether you can trust Americans, to give them shared intelligence."

    UKIP's deputy chairman, Suzanne Evans, has said that Theresa May has a record of failing to tackle extremism.

    Launching her party's manifesto, she said: "Theresa May might like to portray herself as a strong and stable leader who can tackle extremism but her record suggests otherwise."

    She said that, as 91热爆 Secretary, Mrs May made "deep cuts" to the UK's border force and oversaw "record levels of uncontrolled migration".
