Bardsey is a National Nature Reserve which is nationally and internationally important for wildlife.

Its rich nature includes birds, rare plants, lichens, grassland, heathland, and marine wildlife. In the autumn it is best known for its migratory birds.

Nature watching:

A wander around the pathways with a telescope, or pair of binoculars, can be very rewarding.

Members of the public can help volunteer in monitoring seal populations - all they need is a little know how to accurately identify individual seals.

Facilities:

The Trust runs seven self-catering houses - two detached former farmhouses and three semi-detached ex-farmhouses plus a cottage and stable.

Guided trips can be arranged through the Trust.

Access:

Bardsey is a National Nature Reserve with fragile flora and fauna - so there may be certain restrictions of access to some areas.

Getting there:

Bardsey is located two miles offshore from the tip of the Lleyn peninsula. The boat leaves Saturdays during the season. Enlli Sea Safaris leaves from Pwllheli in North Wales.

Two and a half or three and a half hour day trips with Bardsey Island Ferry.

Opening times:

Year round but very weather dependent. Boats may only run in season.

Charges:

Shorter day boat trip - Adults £35; Children £20.
Extended day boat trip - Adults £45; Children £25.
