About Nature's Calendar

ReindeerNature's Calendar is a new wildlife and natural history series on 91热爆 Two Daytime.

Shot in beautiful locations around the country, the series offers tips on where to go to spot some of the most rare and interesting animals, birds, trees and flowers, and how to identify them. It also looks at how species survive and thrive in different habitats.

When to watch...

The winter series of Nature's Calendar broadcasts on Monday November 27 on 91热爆 Two daily at 6pm for two weeks.

The spring run of Nature's Calendar starts in February 2007, also on 91热爆 Two.

A further two series will follow in spring and autumn 2007.

A seasonal calendar

Nature's Calendar provides a seasonal look at the very best of what the UK countryside has to offer - from mountains, woodlands and islands to estuaries, city parks and coastal areas.

The first series, starting in late autumn 2006, features winter locations and we look at the animals, plants and marine life of a wide variety of habitats, offering a user-friendly guide to getting out and about and enjoying them at this time of year.

This will be followed by three more series - spring, winter and autumn, which will look at how nature responds to the different seasons.

Once again, there will be a guide to getting out and enjoying nature for yourselves.

The three later seasons will be broadcast throughout 2007 on 91热爆 Two Daytime.

What's it about?

BadgerThe programme's main aim is to encourage viewers to get out, explore and discover nature for themselves.

Presenter Chris Packham and his team of three experts 聳 earth scientist Janet Sumner, zoologist Sanjida O'Connell and botanist Mike Dilger go out and about to show you the very best winter wildlife in the UK.

During the course of the series, they visit spectacular locations such as the Cairngorms, Snowdonia, Exmoor, Lough Neagh, the New Forest, Fountains Abbey and the Dorset coast.

The programme is a 'user's guide' to nature in the UK and provides a practical guide to what you can do, see and learn.

You can also tell us about seasonal nature on your travels - we'd like you to send in your photographs of UK wildlife.

The best images will be used in the special photo gallery section of the Nature's Calendar website.

Simply send in your photographs in jpeg form to the following email address - naturescalendar@bbc.co.uk together with your name and a few brief comments about what the image is and where it was taken.
