Bitter rivals: United v City |

Manchester
- like football - is made up of two halves. One Red, one Blue.
Yet for the first time, City have got the better of their more flamboyant
rivals.

The bitter
rivalries of the two sets of fans run deep but surface on derby day.
There was Rhapsody in Blue when City won the last Maine Road league
derby comfortably at Maine Road by 3 - 1 in November. (Their previous
win over United at Maine Rd was 5-1 in the old First Division - TWELVE
years ago.)
The anger Sir Alex Ferguson levelled at his players after that defeat
left some illustrious Old Trafford careers dangling by a thread.
Then in the return fixture at Old Trafford in February, City grabbed
a late equaliser - and City can now boast four points out of six against
their Red rivals this season.
Has the tide turned in the Manchester derby?
Can City continue their Mancunian dominance? Or will they feel
the Red wrath next season?
From
des in manchester easy 6 points for united when city come up!! right yeah ok but
hang on whats happened we only got one point, we are catching up with
united now, so much so that your allstar team got turned over on citys
turf and was lucky not to get turned over at the swamp. the tide is
turning
From
Deborah Madge in St.Helens The way that the City fans are going on about todays 1-1 draw
just goes to show how little they are used to winning and drawing
against United. In case they've forgotten,United did the treble four
years ago,I can't see City EVER doing that, can you?
The
posts below were sent before the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford
From

City for Europe? - It may be a win over united, but dont get carried
away. Most of you are blind to see that many of your players aren't
actually very good. You are mid table at best, and have average players.
It will be years until you can compete in United and Arsenal's league.
Wait until OT. Beckham wil rip you to schreds.......
From
Andy V in Manchester
Man U fans don't know what its like supporting a team like Man City.
The dizzy highs (beating man u, getting promoted!) and the horrible
lows (who remembers games in the 2nd Div losing to Oldham, drawing
with Wrexham etc.) We've been loyal and its paid off. Man U fans really
hate us being happy. when we beat them everyone all over town was
in Blue, Blue scarfs, Blue ties, even jst little things like City
badges were everywhere. When Man U win u don't see anyone celebrating.
Im so glad im a city fan. Its much more fun!
