Love in a LibraryMyra , from Little Bowden near Market Harborough was a widow in her fifties - a librarian. Then one day, on a mobile library van she fell in love with Graham the relief driver. Listen to their story as they speak to 91热爆 Leicester's Bridget Blair. Finding love in the library is one of the cliches of romantic fiction. But once in a while fiction becomes reality and romance creeps up on people in unexpected ways. Love Walked InWhen librarian Myra set off from Market Harborough in her travelling library van little did she think that this would be the start of something big. Love walked in in the shape of the relief driver - a burly Australian called Graham Cox.
"It was just another ordinary day in the mobile library," says Myra. "Graham was the relief driver. He came in and we immediately got on very well... We talked all day" Indeed, so close was the rapport that they became absorbed in each other's company. "We even missed a village, Ilston, because we were chatting so much." Listen: Myra and Graham Cox tell their storyBridget Blair talks to a couple very much in love...
Help playing audio/video Happily, professionalism reasserted itself and the couple doubled back to the village where one borrower was waiting. ![]() But what was the chemistry that drew the couple together? "I don't know," says Myra. "It was just like the Billy Elliot thing "There was an electricity between us... I've never had a day like it!" Graham says it was the ease of conversation which caused them to bond. "Some librarians I couldn't talk to at all.... But we just chatted all day. The conversation just flowed. "It was a meeting of minds." Listen: More from Myra and GrahamThe romantic tale unfolds further...
Help playing audio/video Myra was the first to admit that circumstances militated against there being a sexual spark between them at that initial meeting. It was winter and both of them were bundled up in winter clothes. Hardly pulling gear! At the end of the day Myra didn't want to say goodnight to her new friend. Graham says, "I didn't want the day to end... I ended up kissing her hand and asking her for her phone number. It worked!" Like all great romances it ended with the couple living happily ever after. At least we hope that will be the case. Or, as Myra said, echoing Jane Eyre, "Reader I married him." last updated: 27/08/2008 at 14:00 You are in: Leicester > People > Your Stories > Love in a Library |
