Do you believe in reincarnation? Perhaps you feel you've been this way before?

Well, maybe you've considered something called 'past life regression' - that's where the subject is placed into a hypnotic trance and taken back through the mists of time to what could be a previous existence.

Leicester woman Marianne Hancock has been fascinated with the notion that this might actually have some substance.

91热爆 Leicester's Tony Wadsworth sat-in as she was regressed by hypnotherapist, Phil Sherwin. The session took the best part of an hour, so listen to two edited extracts of Marianne taking a trip back in time to a previous life - or two...

Marianne says she felt quite apprehensive and excited at the same time:

"I sit on the fence and I'm going to be very interested in what happens. I like exploring the avenues of the mind and if I can learn more about me that would be wonderful."

Dr Phil Sherwin began his work by placing Marianne into a trance. She went back to when she was just seven-years-old:

"I've got right messy hair, and I've got a dress and socks on."

A New Identity

He then took her back to another life:

"There's a lot of people on this boat. It's like everybody is going to another country.听 I feel like I'm going to America.

"I don't even know who I am. I'm older, I think I'm forty. I think I might be from Ireland. We've got to go. We've got the children. They're ten and twelve."

It seems that Marianne has found another life when her name was Rosie Harper and the year was 1873.

She even began to speak in an Irish accent as she delves deeper into her past!

"Was this really happening?"

After the session Marianne says after the session she felt disorientated:

"I was saying all this things and I don't know why I was saying them, was this really happening?

But she would try past-life regression again:

"I felt very safe and I would like to be hypnotised again. It feels like a very safe place to be.
