This year鈥檚 festival kicks off with Tchaikovsky鈥檚 鈥楻omeo and Juliet鈥� Fantasy-Overture before Sol Gabetta performs Elgar鈥檚 Cello Concerto. Finally, hear one of the greatest cantatas of the 20th century 鈥� Prokofiev鈥檚 'Alexander Nevsky'.

The Choir of King鈥檚 College Cambridge joins forces with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment for music including Faur茅鈥檚 Requiem and Haydn鈥檚 Mass in Time of War.

This evening鈥檚 programme opens with Ravel鈥檚 叠辞濒茅谤辞 and closes with Strauss鈥檚 Der Rosenkavalier suite. In between there鈥檚 a rare chance to hear Galina Ustvolskaya鈥檚 Third Symphony.

In the second ever Gospel Prom, hear some of the best Gospel music on offer, courtesy of the London Community Gospel Choir, the London Adventist Chorale and the V9 Collective.

Katie Derham 鈥� who reached the final in the most recent series of Strictly Come Dancing 鈥� presents a Prom dedicated to all things ballroom, tango and waltz. Gavin Sutherland conducts.

Conductor Mark Wigglesworth pairs the finale of Wagner鈥檚 opera *Die Walk眉re* with Michael Tippett鈥檚 *Child of our Time*, a pacifist oratorio infused with American spirituals.

Bernard Haitink celebrates 50 years since his first Proms appearance with a performance of Mahler鈥檚 monumental Third Symphony. Sarah Connolly is the soloist with the London Symphony Orchestra and Chorus.

The Proms pays tribute to David Bowie, the rock and pop legend, who died at the age of 69 in January this year and whose influence was felt in every field of the arts.

The first part of a two-part commission by Helen Grime (see also Prom 30) opens the 91热爆 Scottish Symphony Orchestra鈥檚 first Prom. It鈥檚 followed by Tchaikovsky鈥檚 Violin Concerto and Stravinsky鈥檚 Petrushka.

Edward Gardner conducts the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and the women of the City of Birmingham Youth Chorus in Strauss鈥� Also sprach Zarathustra and Holst鈥檚 The Planets. The programme opens with a new work by Iris ter Schiphorst.

Jamie Cullum presents an evening of late-night jazz, with performances from 91热爆 Introducing artists, the Heritage Orchestra and conductor Jules Buckley.

John Wilson returns to the Proms with a programme celebrating one of the greatest song-writing duos of all time: George and Ira Gershwin. On the songlist for tonight 鈥� 鈥楩unny Face鈥�, 鈥楨mbraceable You鈥�, 鈥業 Got Rhythm鈥� and many more.

Sir Mark Elder conducts Mahler鈥檚 masterpiece for orchestra and voice 鈥� with soloists Alice Coote and Gregory Kunde. In the first half there鈥檚 a rare opportunity to hear Berlioz鈥檚 King Lear Overture and Colin Matthews鈥檚 Berceuse for Dresden.

Legendary pianist Martha Argerich 鈥� who celebrates her 75th birthday this year 鈥� joins the West鈥揈astern Divan Orchestra to perform Liszt鈥檚 Piano Concerto No. 1, before an all-Wagner second half.

The Metropole Orkest 鈥� one of the world鈥檚 leading pop and jazz orchestras 鈥� celebrates the music of Quincy Jones in this Monday night Prom, conducted by Jules Buckley.

Gabriela Montero is the soloist in Grieg鈥檚 Piano Concerto, the programme also includes music by Villa-Lobos, Marlos Nobre and Rachmaninov鈥檚 Symphonic Dances.

The S茫o Paulo Jazz Symphony joins Marin Alsop and the city鈥檚 symphony orchestra for a Late Night Prom exploring Brazilian popular music.

Iv谩n Fischer conducts an all-Mozart programme, including the Clarinet Concerto and the Requiem. Soprano Lucy Crowe and tenor Jeremy Ovenden are among the soloists.

Hans Abrahamsen鈥檚 let me tell you is paired with Tchaikovsky鈥檚 Symphony No. 4 for the CBSO鈥檚 first of two Proms, this one conducted by the orchestra鈥檚 new music director.

Rattle pairs Mahler鈥檚 Seventh Symphony with 脡肠濒补迟, a work written in 1965 by the legendary French composer and conductor, Pierre Boulez, who died earlier this year.

Marin Alsop returns to the Proms stage to conduct Verdi鈥檚 magnificent Requiem, with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the Proms Youth Choir. The evening鈥檚 soloists include soprano Tamara Wilson.
