Guitarist Milo拧 Karadagli膰 is the soloist in a new concerto by Joby Talbot, whose dancing rhythms take inspiration from Karadagli膰鈥檚 Balkan heritage. The dance continues with Act I of Tchaikovsky鈥檚 beloved ballet The Nutcracker.

Two great queens 鈥� Cleopatra and Dido 鈥� are the inspiration for this concert by Austrian soprano Anna Prohaska and period ensemble Il Giardino Armonico. Operatic arias by Handel and Cavalli are framed by instrumental works from the period.

The 91热爆 Concert Orchestra collaborates with some of the folk world鈥檚 leading musicians, including Julie Fowlis, The Unthanks and Sam Lee, in a concert that celebrates traditional music while also looking to the future of this ever-evolving genre.

George Benjamin and the National Youth Orchestra in a concert of orchestral masterworks that includes Debussy鈥檚 La Mer and Ligeti鈥檚 mesmerising Lontano. Pianist Tamara Stefanovich is the soloist in Ravel鈥檚 Concerto for the Left Hand.

Bernstein鈥檚 West Side Story bursts with violent, sensual rhythms and big-hearted melodies. This most popular of musicals updates the story of Romeo and Juliet, transplanting the action to the warring white American and Puerto Rican gangs of Manhattan.

A concert from Joshua Bell and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields includes Mendelssohn鈥檚 charming A Midsummer Night鈥檚 Dream overture and Beethoven鈥檚 graceful Fourth Symphony. Bell himself is the soloist in Saint-Sa毛ns鈥檚 Third Violin Concerto.

Winner of the 2015 International Chopin Competition, Seong-Jin Cho makes his Proms debut with Chopin鈥檚 Second Piano Concerto. The concert opens with a UK premiere by Agata Zubel and concludes with one of the great Romantic symphonies: Tchaikovsky鈥檚 Fifth.

Dance to the Gypsy rhythms of Hungarian folk music in works by Liszt and Sarasate, while Brahms鈥檚 dramatic First Symphony, with its transcendent finale, is at the heart of this second concert by Iv谩n Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra.
