Sir Andrew Davis conducts L鈥檈nfance du Christ
Despite his strict catholic upbringing Berlioz was not a religious man, yet he was constantly inspired by the religious music that enthralled him as a child; and his most important and substantial works, including his Requiem, Te Deum and the oratorio L鈥檈nfance du Christ, are firmly rooted in the sacred music genre.
In commemoration of 150 years since Berlioz鈥檚 death, we welcome Sir Andrew Davis to 91热爆 Hoddinott Hall for the first time to conduct Berlioz鈥檚 supremely beautiful L鈥檈nfance du Christ, which, with words written by the composer himself, tells the story of Jesus鈥檚 childhood and the Holy Family鈥檚 flight into Egypt.
