Fri 26 Jun 2015 91ȱ Introducing Stage
Supported by 91ȱ Introducing in London

Like Joey Bada$$, who he has supported on tour, fast-rising 20-year-old South London rapper Loyle Carner makes smart, soulful music that looks back to the feel and flavour of 90s hip-hop - giving a laid-back and very British update to the likes of A Tribe Called Quest and Gang Starr. Fittingly, he first made ripples on a 2013 Rejjie Snow track called 1992, which has now clocked up almost a million plays on YouTube, before going it alone with his free-to-download EP, A Little Late.

The EP was supported on Radio 1 and 1Xtra by the likes of Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart and DJ Semtex, before Carner collaborated with the Mercury-nominated rapper, spoken word artist and playwright Kate Tempest on Guts - a 6 Music favourite. Carner toured with Tempest in February, winning him legions of new fans, and plays Glastonbury tipped for huge things. “So dope,” as one fan on Soundcloud succinctly described his music.
