An all-Viennese programme closes the season with the powerful musical statement that is Mahler鈥檚 Seventh Symphony 鈥� an orchestral 鈥楴ight-Song鈥� of luminous intensity and beauty.

About This Event

Cowbells, guitar and tubular bells all add their colours to Mahler鈥檚 shadowy, phantasmagorical vision of night, with its sinister central scherzo and the sober, night-time procession of the Andante, before darkness is swept away in the bright blaze of the finale. A UK premiere by Thomas Larcher opens the concert. Chiasma is the third and final piece in this season鈥檚 mini-focus on the free-thinking Austrian composer.
