I think it can be easily said that Iain Lee's response to the comments made online was much better.

That was funny! Maybe Adam should have written the show.

This video is 1000 times funnier than "The persuasionists".

Hooray! The beard is back! Adam needs guidance in correct useage of a blanket, but it's possible to learn on your own...

Well done to Adam Buxton. He's had an amazing career in tv and radio. And even did funny things with teddy bears (sketches). Whereas Iain, Thumb Bandits, Emmerdale, and radio wrestling; can only hope to be in the same league. Having said that, Lee is a professional and that has to be admired. The others are just props.

I'm a big admirer of both Iain Lee and Adam Buxton, so was looking forward to this new project. The second episode was a big improvement over the first, but the material doesn't live up to their talents. As they settle in to their roles, perhaps they can lift the material. The difference between this project and the IT Crowd is only a matter of a few more good ideas and a step up in the performances. Nice to see Iain back on the telly though.

Does the overwhelmingly negative criticism made online by viewers of "The Persuasionists" come as a surprise to anyone involved in the show? We, the viewers, only receive the end product. We are not judging the time & energy invested in the show by all concerned with it...no doubt it hurts to read such damning views.

However, the performers were reading the lines as written...it's not as if time transforms a poor line into a good one. I find it hard to believe that anyone thought "this is good stuff" as they were making it...let alone during the writing process.

Proof Adam is a comedy genius. Persuasionists + This Video = All balanced out nicely again.

It does confirm the problem with the Persuasionists - the writer. With that cast, and Andrew Collins as script editor, it should be far better.

The refrain in response has been "give it a chance", but it's not getting any better. If anything, repetition is beginning to highlight how weak some of the jokes are. There are still some genuinely interesting (and potentially amusing) ideas but they're either being wasted completely, or poorly executed.

You know what they say, you can make a bad show from a good script, but you can't make a good show from an awful script like the Persuasionists.

Great stuff from Buckles as per usual. I am a massive fan of everything Adam does and I have to admit I probably wouldn't have persirvered with The Persuasionsists were he not in it. I am also a fan of Andrew Collins who I think has taken to much of the blame for the state of the show. I do think the episodes have got better (if only slightly) as it has gone on. I will be watching the whole run....if only because I am missing Adam!
