A new Christmas Special? Victoria Would.

Victoria Wood Thanks to the appalling weather, mentioning exciting Christmas news in the middle of September suddenly doesn't seem such a contrast.

We're very pleased to reveal that British comedy favourite Victoria Wood will be returning to our screens this Christmas, in an hour-long special for 91Èȱ¬ One.

Victoria plans to provide a service for anyone too busy with the usual Christmas faff to watch the telly, by compressing a whole night's viewing into one hour.

So her show - tentatively titled Victoria Wood's Mid Life Christmas - is set to feature highlights from The Mid-Life Olympics 2009, costume drama Lark Pies to Cranchesterford, and the further adventures of soap star Bo Beaumont (played by Julie Walters, of course).

We'll have more as it happens - probably around Christmas time.
