Nobody's Coming to My Christening

Post categories:

Carrie | 10:13 UK time, Thursday, 27 July 2006

Hello Impressionist Fans - your favourite newsreader Dominic Byrne here,

I'm so brilliant at being other people I even managed to fool some of you into thinking I was Carrie.
Ah the wonder of wit - you know I am almost as funny as Ronnie Corbett. He really is my hero.
But he could soon be replaced by Coronations Streets Dev. I do find him incredibly attractive there's something about the way he says Deidre will you be my wife...your such a sexy lady would you be my wife. I now have a poster of Dev on my wall but I have take it down when my actual wife is around.

Today I am continuing preparations for the forthcoming christening of my daughter Chinese.
I am not inviting any of the team. They would only end up drinking all the booze and causing a rucous in the church. They seem to be taking offence at the lack of invite but I don't have the wine budget of the Queen you know.
And I'd hate Chinese to develop into a Hoodlum with that lot as godparents!
Anyway must go now that my weather reports are widely recognised as being totally spot on I'm going to see if I can usurp Rob McElwee as a 91Èȱ¬ Weatherman..

Anyway and my producer said....ta ta for now..HA HA

Dominic

I'm a fully trained journalist don't you know

Am I missing something? I thought your daughter's name was Xanthe.

I just had my daughter Christened in April, and that was one hell of an experience. Fortunately, my family wanted nothing to do with the partying afterwards so my husband, his family (who flew in from the UK, we're in NYC) went to a bar.

Congratulations

At the risk of being pedantic, there are a few spelling and grammar errors in this blog. Just thought I'd helpfully point that out to you, being an English teacher and all :)

Anyone listening on the show last week might have heard Chris do the "Auntie Xanthe" gag... that was mine, I texted that in - he didn't attribute it to me, but that's life!

I think you need a double sided poster... Dev on one side, Tranny Rachel on the other. Something for all tastes there... Hmmm!
