So how about this for a day but then there's the really big news as well.

Chris Evans | 16:08 UK time, Friday, 8 May 2009

Late night last night... one of the team's...

...birthday... only seven drinks long but that's a load for me nowadays.

Up early this morning on Noah duty but more about that in a moment.

Hoofed it to UNIVERSAL MUSIC and got involved in a hugely interesting meeting about a potential new artist. They liked him so much, we had to ring him in his flat in Clapham and get him to come in. He couldn't believe it. Fantastic to see something like that actually happen.

Then off to the Sony Radio Awards meeting for a read through - all happens on Monday night, again v.v. exciting and now

I have to do a spot of filming for a special vid for the 91Èȱ¬ trust.

Now, here's the big news though...

Noah...

loves...

The Pet Shop Boys.

Hurrah for him and them.

He danced all the way through their new album

CLP.

2009.

X.

Have a great weekend you crazy dudes. Here's saying thanks for another fab week on planet earth.

    Beez,
I meant to upbraid you for having a pop at Ferrari, but will let you off as you laughed at my joke, even the CMM doesn't feel obliged to do that anymore!

10 Mins left then home to dig my patio - it's chuffing huge, but last night finished doing all the surrounding brick work - Hurraah -

Tonight dig in the Pagoda (think that's spelt right) and get that sorted over the weekend ready for the slbs next week.

Week after that I'm getting some south country Cider sitting on the patio come rain or shine and using it - It's taken me from Easter to get the blooming thing sorted.

I agree - I'm the treasurer of the local Life saving club. Teach young kids to swim and save lives, pretty important when the town I live in is surrounded by water.

He's going to the groomers tomorrow anyway to be all tidied up for our holiday.

I quite proud of myself for not getting sidetracked too much today, and feeling a lot more confident - we'll find out on Monday pm though!

Just going to get myself some wine too, and decide on tea (Mr JG still sulking over the curtains)!

Anyone seen Mr Deev? Just got in and he ain't here. I'm guessing he's with his other woman, that lotty character.

Man, I'm going out in less than an hour and I am bushed. Done in.

Hopefully a few g&ts will see to that later!

The Wonder Of You .... and Theo has signed a long term contract at The Temple of the Beautiful Game - I actually cheered aloud whilst driving home when Johnny read that out.

Love me, love my football obsession. Them's the rules!

I've decided that when Arsenal unveil their new season kit in July, I'm not going to get a shirt with a players name on it this year. I'm gonna order a home shirt with the No. 1 and Diva on the back. Cool or what!!!

    Hi M-A W

Us too, see above! But it's stopped now

    JG x

  • Comment number 41.

JG has mr JG emerged from the loo yet? My dog has only just come down from upstairs.

She's only become a wimp with noises since she was spooked with a hot air balloon a couple of weeks ago.

Mr MAW is upstairs talking to them over the pond (or so he says, there's talk of a group play book ooerr) so I think it'll be a bit of wisteria ave for me this eve.

have a good one, hope you've done enough revision

  • Comment number 42.

    Hey Chris,

will you be bidding again this year?

    JRE

  • Comment number 43.

Yes, he's fine now thanks. The dog's not bothered at all, and would rather stay out and play.

But because he has a woolly type coat, when he gets wet, he stays wet for ages!

Anyway, tea's nearly ready, so must go.

    JG x

Revision, more like cramming, but I think so, will do some more on Sunday

  • Comment number 44.

    M-A-W Thanks.

  • Comment number 46.

    Hi Bondy

I hope your meeting wasn't too boring, what have you got planned for the weekend?

    M-A-W

  • Comment number 47.

Hi M-A-W, it wasn't too bad, but I had to keep things moving along......

This weekend, well let's see, playing footie, watching footie, watching the GP, and probably working in the garden if the weather is okay..... supposed to be a bit crummy here on Sunday... oh and it's Mother's Day here on Sunday..... How about you?

  • Comment number 48.

    Bondy
It's yet another bank holiday here so most places are shut. So we're going over the border and going to the black forest for the week-end and doing a bit of exploriing.

You sound as if you've got an action packed time planned, what was the end of play re: cricket?

  • Comment number 49.

Another bank holiday weekend. Isn't that two in a row....????

    England won by 10 wickets.......

  • Comment number 50.

Yes i know this is the month of the constant holiday, we have another one on the 21st and the following day is a bridging day, so a 4 day holiday, bring it on!

England have got their act together, what about the ashes? I got tickets for my boys to go to trent bridge the last time England won the ashes, they'll always remember it.

  • Comment number 51.

And so, your number-cruncher extraordinaire, pilot of the twin-turbo, returns to his country pile after another week of analytical hell.

Beer in hand, mozzie bites all over legs, I pause for thought and survey the countryside in all its sun-bathed evening glory from the window of my study.

Maybe life isn't so bad, after all.

Welcome to another weekend. Not a cheekily extended one like last week, but, nonetheless, a couple of days of solace, a chance to take stock, and roll the sleeves up in anticipation of another few days at the grindstone.

Well. It has certainly been a week to rile even the most placid among us. MP's expenses to nancy-boy footballers, we've had the lot. I haven't read too much over the past couple of days, but I'm sure you've debated the lot.

By the way, there is a great piece in the latest GQ by Tony Parsons explaining how and why he has fallen out of love with football. Now I do still follow the game, my team - you know who - has been in my blood since I was a kid, but I agree with so many things he says. Read it, sad though it is, it is all true.

I've been picking up a few new/old CDs this week - remember them?, those silver, squashed bagel things that used to cost £15 a few years ago? I still buy them rather than download as I like to have something I can hold, pop on the shelf, and read - just about - a little about the recording in hand. Anyway, I have been buying, in no particular order, Green Day, American Idiot - never listened to their stuff before, quite like, The Specials - my god, my formative years, in one neatly packaged bundle, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss - a beautiful, folky, country record that will definitely be onboard the mothership when she set sails across the deserts of the US later this year, and finally, the new Prodigy album. Now, I'm not normally a rave/dance type of guy - think accountant, think rock fan - but now and then you can't beat a beat. Pretty good stuff.

    See, now I've rambled on.

Have a good one. Peace etc

    MfR

  • Comment number 52.

Lucky you.... we get one at the end of May....

hmmmmm, it was a convincing win but we've snatched defeat from the jaws of victory so many times.....

  • Comment number 53.

MfR I know what you mean I'd far rather buy cds than down load.....in fact I don't know how to do it .

The story that's haunting me this week, is the woman that ran down that poor lad and hasn't come forward yet,

    a) what's the parents going through and
    b) what's she going through. I know she's in the wrong.

  • Comment number 54.

Mfr know what you mean - have downloaded stuff then copied it to play in cd in car and the car has an i-pod socket!!!! What on earth is that about!!!

She is amazing! I first met her when I interviewed her for a secretarial post about 11years ago. We used to think the other was weird - she thought I was too bossy and I thought she was a church mouse. Over the years we've just got closer and closer. I was Old Maid of Honour at her wedding 8 years ago and now we're just really close friends.

We're also brithday twins, albeit she's 5 years younger than me. But a fantastic friend.
