Here Comes The Sonys.
Morning Dream Team...
... tis the day of the Radio Oscars.
The Sony Awards take place tonight at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London. It is, as they say, "a big deal" - in radioland at least.
And I have to say it's been a huge deal in our house all weekend as I am hosting them this year and have been constantly annoying Tash with questions like:
Is this funny ? Should I really wear the pointy hat ? Is it alright if I go without food for the next forty eighty hours in an attempt to lose a bit of this lard ?
Tash will be there as supportive as ever whilst Mand her sis' looks after the wee one. Noah has approved the script, although he did take out one joke by virtue of being sick all over it. Tash will be sat with the Drivetime team of course who will be out in force complete with fancy frocks and full make up - especially Jonny.
The team are all gonna be kitted out and ticketed up cos' we ourselves are nominated for two of the gongs.
So do I know if we've won ? Absolutely not - those two pages of my script have been blanked out. I honestly have no idea.
What I do know is that there are some fabulous people coming along to help out and you can in fact watch it all at www.radioawards.org.
It should be a great night - a late night but a great night.
I am genuinely excited and more than a little nervous. It's like prize giving at school but with wine instead of Ki-ora.
Here's to radio and all who sail in her and whether we win tonight or not - long live the wireless - FM/AM/LW/SW/DIGITAL or otherwise.
Have a great Monday gang.

Anyway, we called them back to say he'd finally managed to get back up after 30 mins.

Bingo Star ere......
CLP - In the words of The Dave Grohl... "it's times like these" a don't envy you!!!!
If a 'ad ter present something like that i'd be the one being sick all over me jokes.... through nerves - know what am sayin'!!!!
Okay.... so ere's me details of why a think RBS 'as a lot of potential... it's certainly shown alot of potential the past few years.... potential of going bust!!!!!!
Me reasons know, sorry now for investing in RBS and anyone who wants ter copy me investment can (if uv goot 5k ter sparer and 2.7k of it ter risk)....BUT beware shares often go down... so yer could lose!!!
Basically the markets are showing VERY strong signs of stabilising and looking like near the end of the near end of the world... errr world recession now loooks in sight (that's the end of the recession noot the end of the world)(although the UK is coming out of this worse than most thanks to our greedy, corrupt, 'opeless politicians running this joint aka the UK).
The signs from America, Japan and INDEED China are of improvement.... so the low point of this near armagedon financial crisis am 90% sure 'as passed!!!
A also wanter stress... the recent US 'stress tests' are looking less stressful!!!! Nyyaa!!!
The banks are now stablising and although still in dire straights (noot talking the rock band although a do see an opportunity ter make 'Money For Nothing')!!!
The opportunity that a see is that the share prices of the banks, and most companies, are presenting uz with a rare opportunity that they are VERY cheap!
The reason with the banks 'cos they nearly all went pop aka bust!!!
But now a believe they ave stabilised and I very much doubt any more being nationalised anymore like the Northern Rock waz!!!!
Barclays in my opinion is the strongest British bank with Standard Chartered the strongest mainly foreign businessed british quoted bank!!! But their share prices ave already rebounded strongly!!!
Barclays a good investment with the shares at 281p I can see them up at 500 ter 700p in the next 2 ter 5 years... so a chance ter double yer investment! Sadly a missed out az they've already bounced back from a 60 odd pence low, wayyyyy ter go, so missed a great opportunity!!!!
But a still see RBS az a brilliant opportunity still very cheap at 45p-ish. They were 700p a few years ago!!!@!
After 'itting a low of 10p when they looked on the edge of going bust... INDEED, the world loooked on the edge of going bust... they've bounced back ter around 45p!
RBS, although still in a BIG mess, is so international with so many funds/ banking investments around the world of which are actually doing VERY well!!!! So the UK alone iz noot that it's be all and end all!!!!
It's mainly the sub prime area still 'urting them badly!!! Debt faults ter do with 'ome loans going inop but this will soon start ter reeeceeeede and the company will start ter re-build!!
I really do believe the worst of the credit crunch 'as passed and am sure RBS will still be around in 5... 10 years time and all this now will behind us!!!
Thankfully me thoughts, 5 months ago, of the world economy possibly going bust/ a new world order/ currency didn't 'appen and it all looks know, sorry now like just the worst recession since the 1930's may'em!!!!!
A good way ter invest is a CFD (Contract For Difference) or Spread Bet!
I prefer the latter az it's tax free and basically similar ter buying shares!!!
I bought inter RBS a week ago and the way I look at it, it's a long term investment. One that yer tuck away for 3 ter 5 years or more. Ok it is risky but noot VERY risky like a few months ago.
An example of 'ow ter invest iz if someone put 100 pound per point/ penny investment/ bet on RBS that it will go up. So basically every penny it goes up... the investment gains 100 quid... every penny down... It DAMN IT loses one 'undred quider... kidda!!!
(Basically the same az investing 5 grand in normal shares... except normal shares are taxed on any profit!!!!
An example of normal shares - if yer bought 5k at the price now of 47p yer would ave 10638 shares so each penny up or down yer gain or lose 106 pound!)
It's wise ter add a guaranteed stop loss of 20p. So if it plummets ter 20p or goes bust the most one can lose is 2,700. BUT if the shares do slowly but surely recover over the next 2, 3, 5 years and return to 450p which a can see 'appening in the next bull market.... then the investment will ave made just over 40k... if they go back ter the 'eady 'eights of 700p (but for know, sorry now this looks less likely) then it will grow ter 65k plus!!!!
Noot bad for risking 2.7k!!!!!!!
Lets face it yer might bang 2.7k in a pension fund or tracker and find yuv lost most of it... or buy a new car and lose over 2.7k off it's value in a year or two.... so noot a bad risk!!!!
If anyone is gonna copy me a must warn you though very strongly.... it is risky.... RBS could go bust.... or the shares plummet.... or be nationalised as the government already own 70% now. But it's looking much less likely than 3 months ago!!!! I'd be surprised if the government did nationalise RBS as that will cost them more tax payers money - something a believe they will wanter avoid with the already 'ugh UK debt mountain!
Will RBS and the economy come good.....We'll soon see!!!!!
All a can say is it's strange ter see such a massively giant blue chip company with such a low share price - maybe 'cos it is about ter go bust??? But a getta feeling... 'opefully noot this time!!!!
Mind you am thinking of Railtrack now... look what 'appened there!!!!
Mind you this iz totally different now.... or is it???
Soz am confused know, sorry now!!!!!
PS If yuv read any of the papers with their articles about RBS in over the weekend... you'd be scared of buying inter RBS!!! The papers that are now full of doom were the same ones all full of boom, a few years ago, when we were on the edge of bust!!!! Which a forecasted accurately!!! Ave a spelt 'forecasted' accurately??@?
I for one don't take notice of.... just journalists trying ter make a living outta wreeting drama!!!
They were pulling Bono ter pieces last week... a man who's 'elped raise millions for charithee!!!
More than the journalist wreeting the article 'as ever done!!!! (soz this iz anoother blog ter wreet anoother time).
PPS Warren Buffet too... the worlds richest man and greatest ever investor who started with nothing in the fifties, well when a say nothing it waz about 100 dollors but now, sorry now 'e's worth 50 odd billion 'as recently bought inter some of the american banks.... another sign know, sorry now, IZ the time ter buy!!!!!
Banks led uz inter this mess... they will lead uz out!!!
Also the what looks very much like the new forming bull market.... although a think it's VERY soon ripe for a downward correction, will be lead by banks, miners, computer software and oil companies in my opinion... so these are the best sectors ter be in!!!
'ope this 'elps!!!!! (But don't blame me if it goes ape.... blame the greedy bankers and politicians!!!!!
Chow!!!!!
PS Again... Talkin' of politicians.... Obama.... one a like alot!!!!! Seems ter be sorting things out... maybe at last a good man running the US!!!!! Shame about our lot in Westminster!!!!! Tony Benn excepted!!!
PPS Again... I'll bang some more excellent share tips on the blog very soon.... just so many ter choose from am struggling ter share the best shares with yer.... for any who are interested!!!!!
But a think RBS 'as the most potential of them all ter bang upl!!!!
Actually wondering if maybe a should sell me RBS investment know, sorry now???? Maybe it iz too risky???
Naaaa.... just think of the 2.7k yer lose on a new car.... and for the privillage yer get cut up.... ave speed cameras following you.... traffic wardens after yer..... traffic jams.... speed 'umps...... this is a way ter lose 2.7k..... with out all the above road 'assle!!!!!!
And if a don't lose..... and a do make 40k plus.... then a can buy me dream car of a TVR Cerbera..... and THEN do all of the above..... and maybe ave it stolen too!!!!??@?!!!@!
Actually maybe it ain't good if the shares do go up????
Am off for a long lie down ter clear me 'ead!!!!!!

Totally appalled by the greed of our MPs, has anyone come out of this unblemished? It'll be interesting to see what happens next, no point having an election until they sort this particular problem out.

Thanks for all the lovely messages :)
I decided not only to brave the journey to Sale (and the nastiest multi-storey known to man, and most expensive!) but also the Trafford Centre on my own, to get the curtains we need, so once in there thought I'd do a quick update via phone and let work know I'd passed too.
Just poured a glass of vino, and now wondering what to do with myself, as I've no studying to do...doh!
Mr JG finally got in at 2.10am, after spending at least two hours in the company of two lovely WPCs, who looked after him whilst he was monitoring stuff for work...he doesn't know whether to be grateful or embarrassed LOL
Anyhows, got in the wrong lane on the way there, and found that no-one would let me back into the right lane...that's one thing I've noticed since changing my car, people are far more aggressive now. When I had the yellow MX5, I got away with murder with lanes etc (unintentionally I might add), but now I can't!
Glad your car behaved itself in the high winds Beez, mine did too, if I'd been in the MX5, I wouldn't have driven over Barton Bridge today!! Mind you mine should do now, it weighs twice as much!
So, Mr JG working til 8pm, and I better not be too merry when he gets home - need to drive in the morning too!
Sorry, for the long one...just over-excited... and just worked it out roughly, I think I got 85%!
JG x (before she explodes with excitement!)
PS - Shouldn't be allowed out on my own, had an almost weepy moment on the escalators in J Lewis's!!
