It was exciting to welcome our partners in Salford and introduce many of them to each other last Thursday.

It is inspiring to hear how their consumer propositions are making a real difference to how people will consume digital 91Èȱ¬ products in the future.

My team in 91Èȱ¬ Future Media Business Development is the eyes and ears in the markets, helping us to make those connections between 91Èȱ¬ products and new devices and services.

Re the listed "business partners" - where's the FOSS community? Where are MythTV, GNOME, Free Software Foundation, Canonical, Red Hat, etc?

Re iPlayer playout, the open-source community could definitely help you - as we would love to see iPlayer plugins on repurposed hardware... even where free-software devs have been able to hone h264 playout code better than people like Adobe - who ripped out Stage Video logic from Linux Flash clients...

Give us open specs to work to and make it easy for the FOSS community - they want to help extend reach etc... use the Linked model - where the UI can be written independently, and then hand off control..

We *want* to help... don't just force people to buy more kit and have to throw CPU at it..
