Canada's Scottish heritage
Description
Canada鈥檚 second Prime Minister, Alexander Mackenzie, arrived as a Scottish stonemason. While he and many other Scots prospered, others found life difficult in Canada and returned home. Even for those who stayed, links to their Scottish homeland remained strong and have continued until today.
Classroom Ideas

Look for specific places, names and events that link back to Scotland. Compare different versions of Scotland as viewed in each nation. How do these relate to modern Scotland?
