The climate movement
The climate movement refers to non-governmental organisations engaged in activism related to climate change.
Many social media campaigns are running to encourage people to take a stance and pressurise governments across the world into doing more to halt the rate of global warming and the damage done to the environment.
In recent years, teenager Greta Thunberg has led the worldwide campaign Fridays for Future to protest against the lack of action on what activists have termed 鈥榯he climate crisis鈥.
The 2021 Show you Stripes campaign, inspired by a UK Scientist, is being backed by many organisations including UN Climate Change and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). This campaign is building momentum for a robust outcome of the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in Glasgow in October 2021.
