Alternative Ending 2

The old man approached them slowly.
"Don't be frightened Deena. It's ok"
Susan immediately ran over to him.
"Father, how bad is it?"
The man smiled.
"Ever since I created you both I have feared the day when you might have relations with a human. If Gary went to the press with what he knew we would all have been in great danger. Something had to be done."
Deena started shaking.
"What have you done? You've….ki..killed him?"
The man laughed as Gary's silhouette appeared.
"On the contrary Deena…..your father has saved me."
Gary showed her the silver chip on his arm.
"I'm one of you now. I know it's a lot to take in but if this man hadn't helped me I'd have died, but instead I'm ok and I'm here with you." He smiled lovingly at her "and we're engaged."
"Hey, would you like a picture?" A nearby young American eagerly took the camera from a bewildered Deena.
"Smile!"
There they all stood, reunited at last, but there were still so many questions and only one man who had any answers, who knew their future.
One man savouring the moment as he mumbled "the happiest day of my life".
