Does the ICC's intervention promote Kenyan stability?

| Wednesday, 12 Dec. 2010 | 18:06 - 19:00 GMT

The International Criminal Court has accused six high-profile Kenyans of being behind the violence that led to 1,200 deaths. Several questions are arising. We'll be live in Kibera (on the outskirts of Nairobi) to hear reaction from people there. How would you answer the questions below?

Issa Mwamba in Tanzania - So the Titans (Kibaki and Odinga) are out! That's ridiculous, they were the cheer leaders of what happened in Kenya! How come Mr Ocampo excludes the two? A local tribunal is what will fit Kenyans instead of the Hague!

Hi, ICC is not anti Africa, the ICC action is a bold move to help Kenya consolidate the process of ending impunity. Its only the start so the local process should deal with more criminal suspects. Mashiwa here in Nairobi. Kindly call me back

Edwin in Thika in Central Province, Kenya - The two people that would have stopped this are sitting at the very top. They are not on the list so Ocampo will not do us any good really.

Araprop on the blog - ICC is undoubtedly anti african, they wouldn't help kenya at all, infact it's opening the healing wounds. Its agenda in kenya is political and isn't based on proper investigation. It lacks merit, credibility and fairness.

Obiero Mike in Eldoret, Kenya - It is long overdue, and there are many more names that should have been included. People who sponsor or / and incite people to violence must be held responsible. There is a cry of political interference in the ICC process, but all this is due to desperation.

Abdisalan - As a Kenyan i welcome Ocampo's move. He should move with speed and we should know the fate of the people he mentioned before the 2012 general election as some of those named are high profile politicians.

Humphrey in Nairobi, Kenya emailed - Having been evicted from my residence by vigilants, justice has been long overdue. Now we need to set up a local court to try the remaining suspects because they are still many others.

Patrick in Nakuru, Kenya emailed - This is the start of a process that should have began a long time ago. The kenyan system can never deal with these cases. until now kenyans are still living in camps due to fear of going back to their homes.

Hello from Ben S in London. Four topics on today''s show - and so much to talk about. We''re starting with the ICC naming six high-profile Kenyans - including the country''s deputy prime minister - as being behind the post-election violence in the country in 2007. What do you think about this intervention?
