Lynette Lisle: I train for four hours, five or six days per week. We do conditioning or use the apparatus. It depends if we've got competitions coming up or if we're just training. You have to be quite dedicated if you want to succeed because if you don't put the hours in you won't get the results.
RYG: Have you had to make any sacrifices along the way?
LL: Going out in the night with friends - I can't do that quite so often. And sometimes I miss school and it's quite hard to catch up with the work I've missed.
RYG: What do you love about gymnastics?
LL: I like the atmosphere, travelling to different places and keeping fit. It's a good activity for anyone to do because you get fit and make friends.
RYG: How do you stay focused during training and competitions?
LL: I take deep breaths and think about what I'm doing before I go out to the apparatus. You've got to focus.
RYG: Does it help having people to support you?
LL: Yes. You can work better sometimes if you've got your team-mates behind you. We always encourage each other in training and at competitions. We shout for each other.
My coach tells me what I'm doing wrong or right and how to improve on what I've just done. They also set targets for the future.
RYG: What are your goals for the future?
LL: I'd like to go to the Europeans in May, the Commonwealth Games in 2006, and maybe to the Olympics in 2008. Lots of the gymnasts who've been to the Olympics inspire me - just to think I could be there one day. We'll have to wait and see.
