Mike Lewis was a music fan from an early age, being exposed to the likes of Dire Straits and Led Zeppelin in the mid-1980s - his father's record collection forming the basis of the young Pontypridd boy's listening.
When I first joined Lozt Prophetz I was only supposed to be helping them out.
Mike Lewis
He was in the same year at school as Ian Watkins and the two of them continued to discover music together. Alongside metal such as Iron Maiden and Meticalla and 1990s alternative rock like Faith No More came exposure to American hardcore bands such as Gorilla Biscuits and Sick Of It All.
In 1995, Lewis was brought along to play guitar in the hardcore band Public Disturbance by Ian Watkins, with whom he also played in Fleshbind.
He moonlighted with Watkins in their side project, Lozt Prophetz during the late 1990s, but stayed as a member of PD until 2000, after Watkins' departure, as he was a hardcore fan and the band were a fixture on the UKHC scene at the time.
When PD split, Lewis concentrated on Lozt Prophetz as their career began to gather momentum.
