We spoke to Grant Nicholas as he left the stage at the Tsunami Relief Cardiff concert in January 2005. Here's what he had to say.

Hi Grant. How's it been for you today?
It's been brilliant. We've had a really good day. There's been a brilliant atmosphere and I'm so pleased that we'll hopefully raise a lot of money for the tsunami victims.
Why did you want to get involved?
I've been watching the news and reading the papers. I didn't have any friends who were actually hurt out there, but even so, it's affected everybody, the whole nation. I'm so pleased with people's response to this concert. They had two weeks to sell 60,000 tickets and they sold out, which is amazing. People's will has been so good, and I think so many people have been affected by it, us included.
What was it like to walk out in front of the crowd?
Terrifying. We've played here before, but tonight there were TV cameras and the pressure was on. We just thought we'd go out there and do our thing and hopefully people would enjoy it, and I think they did. I really enjoyed it.
It's a really interesting line-up, isn't it?
I know, it's a real mixed bill, with people like Aled Jones and then Snow Patrol and Feeder and Badly Drawn Boy. But I think it's good. It's like a festival thing. There's such a varied audience out there as well, it caters for everyone.
What have you got going on this summer?
We're doing festivals. We've got a UK tour starting at the end of February, a new album out. All sorts. We're going to Japan, Australia, so it's going to be very busy.
Are you sticking around till the end?
Oh yeah, definitely. I'm going to be having a few drinks now. I'm not sure about the finale, I'm going to find out what's going on, but I might get up and play some tambourine or something. I might not be singing anymore - I think I've blown my voice out!
Who's been your personal highlight of the day?
Difficult. I think for warming up the audience it'd have to be the Manics. But I thought Kelly from Stereophonics was very good, and Snow Patrol too.
Did you catch Goldie Lookin' Chain at all?
I just caught a little bit, but obviously they were brilliant too. Always entertaining. I think they're great.
