One of the prime exponents of Welsh-langue pop rock, Elin Fflur has been a perennial favourite since her days in Carlotta.
Soon after leaving Carlotta, Elin became the lead singer of the Anglesey-based group Y Moniars. The group enjoyed a successful spell with the release of their first album Harbwr Diogel.
It's something that's been a dream of mine since I was small. I've always been surrounded by music.
Elin Fflur
Taking a year out from studying for a criminology degree at Bangor University, Elin recorded her debut solo album Dim Gair (no words). Released on the Sain label in December 2003, it was an instant success, mixing rock ballads and lush orchestration with folk songs and adult-oriented pop.
"It's something I've always wanted to do - a solo CD," she said. "I've recorded other things in the past but this is the first time it feels really like mine. I can't wait for people to hear it. Every song on the album comes from personal experiences."
With a diverse collection songs derived from personal experiences, and her natural charisma and talent evident, Dim Gair marked the point at which Elin's talent was finally flourishing.
